Ancient Carved Ring - Two day masterclass with Karolina Stefanska
Saturday & Sunday, 8-9 September 2018
9:00am - 5:30pm
We're so excited to welcome a brand new masterclass tutor to our studio, all the way from Poland! This is Karolina's only class in the UK this year, so don't miss this chance to learn from a metal clay master!
This two day class introduces micro carving tools for metal clay designs while creating an ancient pattern open ring. Follow Karolina's step-by-step carving process, learning tips and tricks especially designed for metal clay along the way! This class is about making your own treasured ring, ornamented in old style with symbols and decorative design. You will also learn about setting stones, matching ring size, and adding precision to your work. You can use an ancient pattern on your ring or create your own version based on your personal style. As a final touch - you'll use a pen plater to decorate your design with gold, copper, or rhodium. After just two days, you'll leave with your own finished ring and loads of knowledge and insight that will enable you to continue making rings on your own at home!
Included in the class:
- 15g Art Clay Silver 950
- Fine silver bezel cup or strip
- Use of all tools needed
- Light refreshments (coffee, tea, biscuits and cake!)

Who is Karolina Stefanska?
Karolina was born in Krakow, Poland and still lives there today. She graduated from PWST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow and currently works there as an actress. She's always been interested in painting, costumes and scenography - creating different worlds from scratch. At about age 23, she started making jewellery after she witnessed someone making a beaded necklace and thought 'I bet i could to that myself'. She tried beading and then began searching the internet, and by lucky accident, stumbled across a description of silver clay. She was flooded by inspiration and hasn't looked back since! Making silver clay jewellery began as a hobby for Karolina but is now turning into a career as she branches out into teaching. She's keen to share her skills, techniques, tips and tricks with the world!
