Gloss Varnish for Resin - 110ml.
This is a great glossy varnish to add to your cured resin pieces. You simply just brush it onto your piece. Its really nice and runny, so it goes on very well and doesn't leave sticky brush strokes on your piece. It kind of self levels itself, so it has a gorgeous smooth finish. The first coat is not super glossy, but adds a nice shine to your piece. You can keep adding layers though until you get the shine you want. It only takes about 2 hours to dry, so doesn't even take that long. I tried it on top of a piece that I had gild waxed, and this was fine too. Please note though: IT DOES NOT WORK ON POLYMER CLAY!!!
Why would I use this?
When you use most resins in a casting capacity, if your mould is a smooth shape, such as a dome/cabachon, then the resin usually comes out gorgeous and glossy. If you use an un-smooth mould, like a shell or textured object, then the surface tends to loose its shine, as the light doesn't hit it as well. This is when I would use this varnish, to bring that shine back. Also sometimes if you use opaque colours (so un-transparent), again your piece can look a little less glossy, this again is the perfect opportunity for this.
I love this product, and the pot lasts forever!!!
PLEASE NOTE: Test results are in...this product can only be used with our Gedeo Crystal Resin.

Nice and glossy but leaves the product weakened and more likely to get scratched than just glazing with resin. It started to peal off one of my pieces after a few days so I won't be using it again!

I wanted to give a try to this varnish on some pieces I made using Chemset resin, even though the NOTE in the product description recommends using it only with Gedeo Resin. In fact the product did not bond with the the resin that I used and it peeled off once dry. Should I use Gedeo I would give it another try.

I had been using a model glaze until trying this varnish. Its brilliant on resin especially if you end up with a slightly tacky piece , gives a lovely bright shine to it as well. Great big bottle will last ages.
Im unsure why its stated only use with crystal resin as Ive used it with easy cast and its dried solid with no problems.
