Silver Clay Beginners Course
Thursday, 23 January 2020
Come spend the day with us, discovering the magic of metal clay - you'll be able to wear your finished pieces proudly as you leave! Using silver clay you can, in a few easy steps, create your own fine silver handmade jewellery or decorations, using tools you probably already have at home. Silver clay truly is magical; you’ll take a squidgy lump of grey dull-looking clay and with a few steps you’ll see it transform into solid, sparkling, real fine silver!
In this beginner course we’ll show you some basic techniques for:
handling the clay
shaping and forming the clay
drying and refining your piece
firing silver clay
finishing and polishing silver
We’ll be your guide into the magical world of metal clay, and we'll take you through the steps needed to successfully leave with some completed pieces by the end of the day. After this course you should feel comfortable working with the metal clay on your own.
The course fee includes 10gm of Art Clay Silver Clay and use of syringe and all tools needed. And no course of our’s would ever be complete without free non-stop coffee, tea and biscuits… :)
Who is it suitable for?
This class can be taken with absolutely no experience of jewellery making or silver clay - it is relaxed and fun, and is ideal for complete beginners. Ages 16+
