Directions to the Metal Clay Studio in Corfe Castle, Dorset

corfe-castle-ruin.jpgThe SilverClay jewellery making and precious metal clay courses are held in Corfe Castle, in Dorset. A real chocolate-box picturesque village with beautiful old stone cottages lining the streets.
The magnificent and imposing castle ruin overlooks the village square, which is surrounded by pubs, cafes, shops, the smallest town hall in the UK, and a tiny little museum.

Most of the classes now take place in our large and bright studio (with some views of the castle ruin!), especially designed for metal clay. You're right in the middle of the village, perfect for lovely cafes, pubs, and restaurants with delicious lunches, followed by a little bit of shopping during your lunch break. If you're struggling to find accommodation in Corfe Castle,

durdle-door.jpgSwanage is a beach town about 10-15 minutes drive away, with plenty of restaurants, great fish and chips, a long, long sandy beach, and a nice old-fashioned pier. There are many B&Bs in Swanage, and there are buses between Swanage and Corfe Castle.

Being located on the Jurassic Coast (England's first Natural World Heritage Site!) there are many amazing places to visit and so much to do in the area, so it is easy to keep family and friends busy while you immerse yourself in the world of Art Clay. An ideal place to come and learn more about precious metal clay.

Here are instructions on how to get to the Metal Clay Studio, together with some accommodation links, and a map, for the Corfe Castle area.

PLEASE NOTE - we do not have a walk-in shop for metal clay products. You are welcome to make an appointment to come and pick up orders, or to come and see specific products, but you must contact us first to ensure someone will be free to help you.

Approaching Corfe Castle village on the A351, the castle ruin is on a hill to your right. Keep going past the castle, and follow the road round to the right, up the short hill, into Corfe Castle village.

Coming up towards the top of the hill just past the castle ruin, next to Bankes Arms, turn right into the village centre so you have the church on your left, and the Greyhound Inn and the castle ruin on your right. Right in front of you you should see the National Trust shop. If you're here for a short visit you can park for one hour in front of the Greyhound Inn or the National Trust shop. There are more one-hour spaces all along West Street, including right outside our studio.

The SilverClay studio is on
27 West Street, just round the corner from the village centre, past the Post Office. If you walk down West Street you'll pass The Fox Inn on your right more or less opposite the church, then you'll pass Oliver's on your left, followed by road curving right. We're down the road on your left (if by any chance you can't find us, ask any villager for the old butcher's shop!). You'll first see The Delightful Shop, we're the next white door marked "Metal Clay Ltd", the studio is upstairs.

To get to the village car park, drive down West Street, past the church, the road bends right (you'll see our studio on your left just before a turning off to the left) and then left. On the right you'll see a turning marked with a small sign saying "Village Car Park". Don't forget to bring coins - approximately £5/day.
