Create fabulous transparent enamel effects on your fired silver clay or sterling silver - with no hassle!

Vitrea 160 water based paints were designed to use on glass (which they work beautifully with) but luckily a few years ago someone came up with the idea of trying it on silver clay... It was amazing! You get a lovely transparent enamel effect, with no need for a torch, kiln or other high heat. All you need is a kitchen oven!

Paint on the fired, polished and cleaned silver.
Dry for 24 hours.
Bake in a kitchen oven at 160C for 40 minutes.

You can mix the colours. You can paint on two layers for a deeper colour. If you make a mistake, simply wash it off with water and start again (before curing of course!).

You'll achieve deep lush colours, I think it must be the absolutely easiest way of adding colour to silver. It is extremely hard wearing too, and very easy to patch up if you ever need to. I decorated a ring with Pebeo Vitrea in 2006 - it still looks great. Don't forget to give it a go on glass too!

This set comes with 6 glossy 20ml bottles. The colours include: veil white, ink black, pepper red, sun yellow, oriental green and turquoise.

Simple affordable, great results

These glass paints are so easy to work with. Though the discovery set has only 6 different colours, it's an excellent starter set and there is enough to get you going plus the set can be added to with a huge range of other colours, transparent, opaque and frosted available. Excellent to make small unique glass painted designs for jewellery, plus they can be painted onto clay projects after they've been fired. Just a domestic oven turns fired clay projects into your own enamelled creations I would recommend getting a hold of at least one Pebeo Vitrea 160 Marker pen for details and outlines on glass work.
