I've been buying these polishing pads from Cooksongold to polish my patinated copper jewellery. These are exactly the same product but MUCH cheaper. Shall be ordering from here from now on :-)
Another one of Petra's absolute favourites!
These pre-treated two-inch squares are absolutely fantastic for polishing up fired metal clay, and also for quickly removing oxidisation from silver jewellery. The gentle abrasive also gives a great finish on BRONZ and COPPRclay.
An excellent size for hand-polishing, pads are tight-bond cellular foam with permanently bonded micro-abrasives. Use them with a lot of pressure - until they squeak! You can't wash these, and don't get them wet or they'll go really sticky and strange. Use until completely dark grey on both sides (or in Petra's case: when they fall apart), and then throw them away.
Each pad is 51mm x 51mm (2"x2").
BULK BUY OPTIONS AVAILABLE:
5 = £0.59 per pad
20 = £0.49 per pad
50 = £0.39 per pad
I usually use the coloured polishing pads but thought I would try these as I was teaching a few classes back to back and thought it would be easier to just have the one. I was not as impressed! I will go back to my coloured papers in the future.
These are absolutely brilliant, I wish I’d found them earlier! I will buying these again ... and again.
So happy with this item, u would never believe such a small simple thing can have such a big impact on a item
Marvellous little pads that give an excellent shine with very little effort, wouldn’t be without them.
I find these polishing pads so useful, you can use them to highlight things or polish and I virtually always use them when finishing an item no matter whether it is fired metal clay or not as they are so malleable. I have been using them for quite a. number of years and shall continue to do so, I do wish they were a little cheaper, even with Metal Clays deals and they are good deals, they are still quite expensive so I use them right at the end of the polishing process and eeek them out, still worth having in your polishing arsenal!
I use these to remove oxidisation after using liver of sulphur on silver pieces. They are also perfect to use to polish the finished pieces. Brings to a very high shine.
