We're excited to add this fascinating thermoplastic modelling and moulding material to our range! Popular with crafters, prop creators and now jewellery makers - Worbla's Transp Art (WTA) is an extremely versatile moulding material and so fun to use!
The transparent plastic becomes incredibly flexible when heated and can therefore be stretched over forms and then cooled to harden and hold a shape perfectly. Alternatively, you can heat the plastic into a putty and use it in pre-made moulds or for free-form modelling. No need to worry about messing up or wasting the material - the plastic can be reactivated with heat (approx. 120°C/250°F) as much as you'd like so it's completely re-usable! it can also be dyed directly or painted afterwards.
Worbla's Transpa Art is non-toxic, solvent-free, and contains no hazardous materials so it's simple and safe to use, even for complete beginners. We strongly advise wearing heat protective gloves with rubberised fingers to protect your hands from the heat.
HOW TO USE:
Heat to 120°C with a heat gun. The plastic will harden as it cools down but can be reactivated as often as required so if you're modelling complex shapes - we recommend working gradually bit by bit. Use a wet sponge, old tooth brush, or sculpting tools to help stretch and shape it over a form. To remove excess from models or moulds - re-heat and trim the excess with scissors.
