They can also be used to scribe, the Tungsten Carbide tip is much more hardwearing than a normal high-speed steel scribe. This means that it can be used with very hard or abrasive materials without wearing out quickly, making it suitable for marking stainless steel, glass or ceramic – and of course, it can be used on softer materials as well.
