Popular with crafters, prop creators, cos play artists, costume makers, and now jewellery makers - Worbla's Transp Art (WTA) is an extremely versatile moulding material and so fun to use!
The transparent plastic becomes incredibly flexible when heated and can therefore be stretched over forms and then cooled to harden and hold a shape perfectly. It's often used for props and costume making, but it is also great for making moulding shapes for working with metal clay; shape it to any shape you want, and use as a form for your metal clay - it gives gorgeous soft undulating forms.
No need to worry about messing up or wasting the material - the plastic can be reactivated with heat (approx. 120°C/250°F) as much as you'd like so it's completely re-usable!
This handy mouldable sculpting plastic can be dyed or painted.
It can also be dyed when hot or painted with glass paint or acrylic paint afterwards. You can join sheets using rivets, glue or a soldering iron.
Worbla's Transpa Art is non-toxic, solvent-free, and contains no hazardous materials so it's simple and safe to use, even for complete beginners. We strongly advise wearing heat protective gloves with rubberised fingers to protect your hands from the heat.
HOW TO USE:
Heat to 120°C with a heat gun. The plastic will harden as it cools down but can be reactivated as often as required so if you're modelling complex shapes - we recommend working gradually bit by bit. Use a wet sponge, old tooth brush, or sculpting tools to help stretch and shape it over a form. To remove excess from models or moulds - re-heat and trim the excess with scissors.
1 sheet - Approx. 20 x 30cm
*There may be a few small marks on the sheets - don't worry it won't affect its use, they're purely cosmetic!
