So what is this strange paper metal clay? 
Art Clay Paper Type is a precious metal material, which turns into pure silver (99.9%) after firing.

What can I do with it?
Use the same techniques with this paper-like clay as you would with normal paper - draw designs in pencil, fold it easily, use paper punches, or cut into strips to weave into a pattern. It feels completely dry, and is not sticky at all! This longer size has been developed especially to make quilled silver pieces, it is also great for making origami shapes, weaving and making your own bezels!

After firing, it’s possible to adjust the shape if you need to do some final tweaking. Once you’re happy with your shape, use a stainless steel brush or a burnisher to add a polished finish.

How do I use it? 
Even though this paper type is still silver Art Clay, the Paper Type has different characteristics, and needs to be used slightly differently:

-Do not apply any additional moisture onto the surface when you work with the paper, as that can cause it to disintegrate. It will remain soft and supple whilst you work with it. Repair any cracks after firing with Art Clay Overlay Paste. Using Art Clay Silver Paste on unfired paper can cause it to crumble due to the moisture in the paste.

-Store unused Paper Type in a grip-seal bag and keep in an airtight container at room temperature.

-There is no need to dry this paper type of clay before firing, so don’t use a drying device of any type, as this will make the material brittle.

- This type of clay has a shrinkage rate of 8-9%, so bear this in mind when measuring out your design.

- When quilled Paper Clay is fired, the circular design will expand. To avoid expansion, wrap the piece carefully with some soft fibre cloth, or with double side adhesive tape before firing.

- Always fire in an electric kiln from room temperature. When used alone, the clay paper requires kiln firing at 800°C for 30 minutes.
