RUST BE GONE! Renaissance's Metal De-corroder is the safe and non-toxic way to remove rust and scale, is ideal for cleaning tarnished tools or tumbling steel shot.

Renaissance Metal De-Corroder is a safe, non-toxic way of removing rust and scale from your metal items - ideal for rusty shot in your tumbler. It can even remove rusty water stains from stone. The De-corroder ruptures the bond between base metal and corrosion layer, turning the dreaded rust to a sludge which you is easily wiped or brushed away. Just rinse in clean water to stop the process.

It works brilliantly with Iron, Bronze, Copper, Copper Alloys, Brass, Steel, Zinc and galvanised materials.

• For best results, use a wire brush to remove loose rust and scale before immersing in the liquid.
• Pour some De-corroder in a vessel where you can immerse what you're cleaning. A glass jar is ideal, mild steel, porcelain, rubber, polythene or other plastics vessels are suitable - galvanised, tin, zinc or lead-lined tanks are NOT suitable.
• Coat your object in the de-corroder.
  • Light corrosion will clear in as little as a few minutes.
  • If you have a very rusted piece, you can safely leave it in the liquid for hours, if needed even days. Check the process regularly by rubbing the rust with a finger.
• After treatment, rinse with clean water which will stop the process.
• After use you can keep the solution, just separate it from any sediment by siphoning it into a clean container and top up occasionally with fresh solution. The product remains effective for many weeks.
• The metal surface you have de-rusted will be stabilised for up to 14 days, allowing you time to treat the item with a protective finish afterwards, Renaissance Microcrystalline Wax is ideal for this on tools and metals.

The totally benign nature of the product eliminates work and health hazards associated with common de-rusting systems such as those based on phosphoric and hydrochloric acids.

Because it’s non-toxic, it has no significant effect on the metal beneath, so you can just leave it to it! The rust will be reduced to a sludge which can be easily wiped or brushed away.

Treatment is most effective between 10-20°C. The process will be slower at colder temperatures.
