Round Crown Silver Prong Setting - 8mm

Use this elegant prong setting (also known as claw setting) to set 8mm stones, which can't be fired. Simply push the setting into the wet clay until secure and fire. The prongs (or claws) on this setting have beautiful detail which adds a subtle elegance to any piece!

This prong setting is made from 980 silver, which contains 2% copper. When it is fired, a little fire scale may be created, and it may change from its original colour. To clean up the setting, use a wire brush or some pickling compound to remove the oxidised layer. Once your piece is fired and polished, we recommend using our prong pusher and a burnisher to set your stone.
