Choose from 0.62lb or 2.5lb Sparex® - the dry granular pickling compound for safe and long lasting pickling solutions for your jewellery making. Sparex no. 2 is suitable for pickling, removing surface oxidation, scale from non-ferrous and precious metals like silver, gold, copper, brass and more.

When it comes to cleaning and pickling your jewellery, Sparex pickling compound is just what you need. It is easy to use, and a safe replacement for dangerous sulphuric acid - but it is just as effective at cleaning and pickling metals!

Sparex® is a granular dry acid compound manufactured by Krohn Technical Products for pickling, cleaning and removing surface oxidation, scale and incrustation. Sparex® is an easy to use, longer lasting, safe replacement for dangerous sulphuric acid in effective cleaning and pickling of metals. Produces smooth, clean, bright surfaces quickly and economically, without destroying fine detail or tolerances by minimising the risk of over-pickling, pitting, burning, and wire brushing.

The prepared solution has 1½ times the available acid content of a 5% sulphuric acid solution and is more effective than citric acid pickle. 

Suitable for pickling gold, silver, and copper based alloys.

Sparex is non-flammable and non-explosive.

• 1.13kg (2.5lb) - makes approx. 3.8 litre (1 gallon) of pickling solution.

NOTES - Always add the Sparex to your water, not the other way around. Contains sodium bisulphate. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. When exposed to air or humidity Sparex can turn a tan or brown colour. This is normal and will not affect the performance.
