I'm now on my third pack of these, used with base metal clays and they've fired really well at over 800°C. The shine is dulled a smidge where directly adjacent with the bronze, but the pin stays sharp and shiny. They have a nice positive click when applying the clutch back. I've even 'kiln soldered' them in place using Clay Bond, to both copper and different bronzes. Just ensure that you have enough clay/metal underneath the embedded pin, after making a hollow for it, as if it's too shallow, after shrinkage, the clay can end up quite thin on top of it, causing a weak spot - ask me how I found that out!
