Copper round bezel cup for cabochon shaped stones. Give your stones the stunning setting they deserve. And do it with ease!
A plain round copper bezel cup measuring 3mm in diameter and a wall height of approx. 1.74mm. If you need to adjust the wall height to fit your stone; just file or sand the top edge of as necessary.
This cup holds one 3mm round stone or glass cabochon, flat-back stone, or crystal. Using ready made bezel cups saves you time, and gives your work clean lines and a professional looking finish. Perfect for everything from earrings to cufflinks, or rings to pendants!
Traditional use:
Simply solder the bezel cup to a finding or design, and set as desired.
Simple use with copper clay:
To set the bezel cup with ease, roughen up the back of it (use a rough file or sharp scriber) to give it some tooth, and press into copper clay when wet. You can also carve or drill an area in the clay when dry and drop it in.
For extra strength, you can even drill a hole in the bottom of the bezel cup and push into wet clay so that the clay bulges up slightly through the hole. This will create a mechanical bond, like a kind of rivet. Just ensure the depth of the stone can accommodate this.
Perfect for setting those natural gemstones that cannot be fired.
Please note: Bezel cups are manufactured to the size advertised, or may be slightly oversized because we know building up an undersized stone is easier and offers better results than forcing a bezel to accept an overly large stone. Please be aware that, due to stone-cutting tolerances, this cup may not accommodate all like-sized stones.
