Necklace
- Make a stamp with your desired motif using a stampmaker kit, or a photo polymer plate kit. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully.
- Apply non-stick balm to your hands. Prepare a non-stick sheet and cutters as well as a roller and spacer set from your acrylic tool kit. Apply balm to the cutters and stamp. Roll out 10g of silver clay until 1mm thick. This should be enough to make two pendants and a small bracelet plaque. Push your stamp into the clay, then cut it out using a shaped cutter of your choice. Add holes for jump rings using a small straw.
- Leave in a warm place until completely dry. Refine the shape using a sanding pad, making sure to remove scratches or marks. Fire in a kiln at 800°C for 30 minutes, or with a blowtorch. After firing, treat the piece with a brass brush. Leave with a satin finish, or achieve a higher shine by using a pro-polishing pad.
- Make your motif stand out by experimenting with different effects. For fine lines, apply a patina to the imprint using Live of Sulphur, then polish up the raised parts. For larger shapes, such as a hand print, apply gilding liquid for a golden look.
- Attach a jump ring through the hole in the pendant and thread onto a choker necklace, which come with a clasp.
Bracelet
- Make a stamp as for the necklace. Roll out 10g of silver clay and roll until 1mm thick. Push your stamp into the clay, then cut it out using a rectangular cutter. Add a hole at each end for jump rings using a small straw. Dry, sand and fire the clay, then polish as before.
- Measure the length you wish the bracelet to be then deduct the clay plaque and clasp. Cut the two pieces of chain to this length and fold in half. Attach a jump ring to each hole in the plaque, and thread a piece of chain through each. Attach a toggle clasp to the ends to complete.
