This kit is an expanded version of the Art Clay Silver Basic Kit which comes with the basic tools perfect for a beginner to get started with precious metal clay. The instructions in this kit are really detailed and will give you a good understanding of silver clay and how to work with it.
This silver clay beginners' kit comes with step-by-step instructions for four different projects; learn how to make a pendant with a fingerprint impression, and an adorable silver spoon.

What is in this kit?
- Art Clay Silver 7gm
- Acrylic Spacer Set - 5 different thickness guides for rolling out your clay
- Roller - for rolling out clay
- Mister Bottle - fill with water and use to gently mist your clay if it starts to dry
- Fine brush - handy to use to smooth out the clay, add water to seams and to bond clay parts, manipulate and move small parts
- Non-stick working surface
- Pro-Polishing Pad for a super sparkle shine after firing
- 1.5mm drill bit
- Burnisher smooth your silver to a high shine
- Cutter set - cut out shapes to kickstart your making
- 6 x 3M Polishing Papers roughly A7 size - for a mirror finish
- Veined leaf for texturing
- Refillable gas torch - for firing (gas not included, use Butane Gas which can be found in most newsagents)
- Fibre brick - heat-proof surface for firing metal clay and soldering
- Oyumaru - reusable mould making material to make moulds for impressions
- Sanding pad set - to shape and smooth your clay before firing, and to mirror polish your silver after firing
- Brass Brush - for brushing your piece after firing, leaves a satin finish (style of brass brush may vary from kit to kit)
- Silver polishing cream - for final polish
- Polishing cloth - for final polish
- Liver of Sulphur - to give a black oxidised patina, antiquing solution
- Sterling Silver Jump ring - to hang on a chain

What can I make from 7gm of Art Clay Silver?
Use this kit to make real fine silver pendants, charms, or earrings.
To give you an idea of how much you can make; the picture here shows 7gm of clay (what is included in this kit) rolled out 1.5mm thick (the thickness of the spacers in this kit).
As you can see, you can easily make 2 good sized pendants, with enough left for 2-3 mini pendants or charms.
Rolling out at 1.5mm thickness is a good idea when you begin with silver clay, this gives you a little extra thickness to allow you to imprint textures without making parts too thin, and gives you a stronger end result.
We usually say 1mm is the minimum thickness you should use when rolling out clay, so this is 0.5mm thicker than that. As you get comfortable you will be know when and how you can work with slightly thinner sheets of clay.

I’m loving it!!
I’m really pleased with this purchase! I decided to enrol onto a metal clay course and what I needed to participate really overwhelmed me. Metal clay firing kit with torch
Bought this kit as I wanted to venture more into some metalwork and it was fantastic! I liked that I was able to buy the kit with the torch as other similar kits I had seen were the same price or more, but without the torch, so this makes sense for value for money! The kit has lots of extras and comes with useful instructions for how to use it all. I found the online videos were also really useful to build my confidence with using the kit before using it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with no experience with metalwork!
