Product Description
Art Clay Gold Paste, add 22K accents on fine silver, glass, and porcelain.
The AGS bottle contains 1.5gm of pure gold powder dispersed in a non-toxic water-based binder. It can be fired on a gas hob, a kiln (or if you're confident with a gas torch this can also be used).
You apply the gold paste to an already-fired silver piece. Dry, and fire again to sinter the gold and bond it to the silver.
It is extremely easy to use, and you'll have no need to worry about hot plates, or burnishing the hot metal.
This magical little paste gives you 100% recycled conflict free 22ct gold (the pot contains 77.5% 24ct gold mixed with water and binder, giving an applied 22ct accent).
How to use:
Apply the undiluted Gold Paste on a fired unfinished Art Clay Silver surface in a thin layer. The unfinished matte surface of silver clay after firing is perfect for applying gold paste, as it will help it bond. If you have already polished your silver you can refire the silver piece in a kiln for 30 minutes at 700C/1292F to burn off any dirt and give you a matte surface, and then apply Gold Paste.
If you use undiluted paste on a glass or thick glazed porcelain surface, the painted area may sink due to the gold weight. It is recommended to use a little of the medium that comes with the paste to dilute it when used on glass or porcelain. The Art Clay Gold Paste has been tested with COE90 glass, if you use glass with a different COE, please test fire first.
Finishing
The surface of the Gold Paint will be matte due to crystallisation, so it needs polishing after firing - we think the best result is reached with an agate burnisher.
Note - the paste may arrive slightly dried out, and will dry out as it sits between uses. Just add a drop or two of water to turn into paste again. Always stir well before use.

Art Clay Gold Paste
I really like the effect of the gold accents which you can get with this product, and it is easy to use, especially when you use it on a green(unfired) piece, and while it seems expensive, it goes a long way, especially if you are just picking out little parts on pendants or earrings. So I wouldn’t hesitate to say that it is well worth getting, if you want to add a little something special to your silver pieces.

Affordable Gold
I love this gold paste. I know it's expensive but it goes a long way and is great for adding gold accents to elements of fired silver clay. Adding gold to your work adds value and the colour is glorious! Follow the instructions carefully! Dispense a small amount of the paste onto a glass sheet or ceramic tile, mix in some of the medium to make it a smooth paste and paint into grooves or dips in your texture. Fire by torch or kiln and then burnish for a beautiful gold lustre. I use this only in protected areas like carved lines or deeper textures. On high spots, Keum Boo with Art Clay Gold Foil is a better option. The paste is also great for adding into hard to reach areas where Keum Boo wouldn't be possible.
